One goal of trompe l'oeil painting is to depict objects with incredible detail. Life size representation creates a believable illusion. Carefully chosen objects can tell a story. This one is about the gravity of apples, a wedding garter, and love.

This trompe l'oeil painting expresses aspects of desire with images of a groom's suspenders, and some dangling fig leaves with fruits. I remember a quest to find the right kind of wooden knob to paint at the top of the picture.
